Page editor and dashboard

Create, edit, duplicate and organize pages with the Olgax DXP visual page builder and dashboard - Overview, Pages, Analytics and Settings.

Everything an editor needs lives in two places: the dashboard at /dashboard, and the page editor at /<slug>/edit. Both require a signed-in Payload user. Anonymous visitors are redirected to /admin/login.

The dashboard

Totals at a glance: number of pages and how many are published, total views, the current locale and a list of your top pages by views.

Create a page

Use the New page form on the Pages tab. Type a slug, for example pricing, and press the button. The editor opens at /pricing/edit.

  • Spaces in a slug become hyphens, and the slug is lowercased.
  • The page home is your homepage, served at /. Visiting /home redirects to /.
  • The page does not exist in the database until the first draft autosaves.

Start from a section

The optional second field takes the slug of a section. The new page starts with that section's blocks instead of an empty canvas. Try it with the seeded cta-banner section:

/some-new-page/edit?section=cta-banner

Sections are reusable groups of blocks managed in the admin under Sections. They are a way to keep repeated layouts consistent. A section is a starting point: the blocks are copied into the page, not linked.

Work in the editor

The editor is Puck. The left panel lists blocks, the center is a live canvas, and the right panel edits the selected block. The canvas is styled exactly like the live page.

  • Drag a block to add it or reorder it.
  • Select a block to edit its fields. Text, links, numbers, lists and selects are plain fields.
  • Page title and page-level colors are root fields, shown when nothing is selected.
  • Undo and redo, device-size preview and the outline are built into Puck.

Edits autosave as a draft after a short pause (about two seconds). Nothing reaches the public site until you press Publish. See Drafts and publishing.

Per-block options

Blocks can include extra fields that Olgax adds through the SDK:

  • Colors: override the background, text and primary colors for just this block. See Theming.
  • Show to: everyone, new visitors only or returning visitors only. See Personalization.

Edit from the live site

When you are signed in, an Edit this page link appears on public pages so you can jump straight into the editor.

Site Settings

In the admin, open Site Settings (a global) to set:

  • the primary, background and text colors for the whole site, as hex values
  • whether localization is enabled

Media

Upload images in the admin under Media. Every file needs alt text. Media is publicly readable so images can show on public pages, and only signed-in users can upload, replace or delete.

One role for now

Any signed-in user can edit everything. Role-based permissions are not part of Olgax DXP yet, so only create accounts for people you trust.
